A Portrait of the Author: Truman Capote

Capote was a hug author before he wrote about the first big murder of a family to shock the United States called In Cold Blood (1966). It is also the book that Director Bennet Miller chooses to show the intricacies of character and stylized persona of Truman Capote. The film follows Capote (Philip Seymour Hoffman) through New York city literary and gossip circles, which is in stark contrast to the Kansas landscape and jail cell where Capote befriends and tells the story of the murderer Perry Smith. The film is compelling and well done.
